Foi o quarto recuo consecutivo do indicador, e o conduziu o índice ao menor patamar desde maio de 2021 (94,5 pontos). Uma piora na percepção do varejo em relação ao ritmo de negócios no momento presente levou ao resultado, detalhou a confederação. Incertezas quanto aos rumos da economia, bem como concorrência de produtos estrangeiros no mercado doméstico, ajudaram a compor resultado de queda, detalhou ainda a organização.

Os três indicadores componentes do Icec tiveram queda em outubro. Em relação a setembro, houve recuos em expectativas (-1,3%); intenção de investimentos (-2,4%) e condições atuais (-5,5%). Esses mesmos tópicos tiveram quedas de 1,1%, de 1,8% e de 4,1%, respectivamente, ante igual mês em 2025.

A CNC chamou atenção para os recuos mais expressivos em tópicos relacionados a condições atuais de negócios do comércio. Esse tópico, em outubro deste ano, ficou com 68,2 pontos, menor pontuação desde maio de 2021 (64,5 pontos).

Um dos aspectos que levaram a essa visão desfavorável na percepção de vendas atuais do varejo foi a piora na avaliação sobre a economia. No Icec, 78,2% dos entrevistados classificaram o cenário econômico como pior, maior parcela desde maio de 2021 (80,5%).

Esse contexto menos favorável tanto em relação a vendas quanto em economia também derrubou outros dois indicadores: intenção de contratação de funcionários, que mostrou recuo de 2,8% em outubro, e análise de percepção de estoques, que caiu 1,4%.

Varejistas de bens semiduráveis mostraram-se os mais pessimistas, no Icec de outubro. Ocorreram quedas expressivas nos indicadores de confiança em roupas, calçados, tecidos e acessórios, que tiveram queda 5,4% em outubro ante setembro, para 97,3 pontos; de supermercados, farmácias e lojas de cosméticos, com recuo de 2,7%, para 93,9 pontos; e eletrônicos, eletrodomésticos, móveis e decoração, cine/foto/som, material de construção, veículos, com queda de 2,8%, para 100,6 pontos.

Em comunicado, o presidente do Sistema CNC-Sesc-Senac, José Roberto Tadros, ponderou que os varejistas se apresentam em outubro inseguros quanto ao ritmo de seus negócios, quando deveriam pensar em ampliar investimentos visando as vendas de fim de ano.

O economista-chefe da CNC Fábio Bentes, concorda. “Há desaceleração de toda economia, bem como do comércio, impactado por importações diretas sem as cargas tributárias equivalentes para o empresário e com o consumidor mais acanhado por conta do alto endividamento duradouro”, disse.
