“A gente antecipou nossas captações, nossas necessidades de financiamento. É uma forma de navegar esse período sem ter que acessar mercado no período de volatilidade”, afirmou em referência às últimas emissões de debêntures realizadas pela companhia.

A empresa também realizou uma oferta pública subsequente de ações (“follow-on”) de R$ 1,2 bilhão, para fazer frente ao descruzamento de ativos com a Axia Energia, além de investimentos.

A executiva destacou que a maior parte dívida da companhia está indexada à inflação (IPCA), que é o mesmo indicador que ajusta a receita da empresa, fazendo uma proteção (“hedge”) natural.

“Claro que juros de longo prazo estruturalmente mais altos impactam o custo de oportunidade nas suas novas decisões de alocação de capital. Isso tudo é ponderado na nossa gestão, nos nossos cenários de risco e decisões de novos investimentos”, afirmou ao Valor.

No acumulado do ano até setembro, o volume total de investimentos aportado pela companhia foi de R$ 3,4 bilhões. Só no terceiro trimestre, cujos resultados foram divulgados há pouco, foram R$ 1,1 bilhão.

A empresa conta, porém, com aproximadamente R$ 12 bilhões em investimentos previstos para os próximos anos, dos quais R$ 7,6 bilhões são para projetos de reforços e melhorias já autorizados pela Agência Nacional de Energia Elétrica (Aneel) e R$ 4,1 bilhões para os projetos greenfield em construção (Serra Dourada e Itatiaia).

Para Wada, neste contexto, as novas decisões de investimentos passam principalmente por leilões e oportunidades de fusões e aquisições (M&As). A companhia tem ponderado a participação nas licitações futuras, inclusive, na de baterias, na qual já tem expertise por ter desenvolvido um projeto de grande porte no litoral sul do Estado de São Paulo.

“A gente tem declarado ser bastante interessado em baterias como um tema, entendendo a relevância dessa tecnologia para os desafios que o sistema tem hoje. Temos estudado com bastante cautela, porque ainda vemos uma série de indefinições que são relevantes”, completou.

O leilão de baterias está marcado para dezembro deste ano. Já o calendário de leilões de transmissão prevê sete licitações até 2029, sendo três delas no ano que vem.

“A gente não tem nenhuma obrigação, necessidade ou diretriz de participar e ter que ganhar”, afirmou.
