Companhias aéreas de todo o mundo têm recorrido à redução de voos deficitários e ao aumento das tarifas para proteger a rentabilidade diante dos preços elevados do combustível de aviação após o conflito no Oriente Médio. A Ryanair Holdings afirmou no início desta semana que espera um aumento dos preços, enquanto a Deutsche Lufthansa também apontou uma tendência de alta nas tarifas.

O IAG, que também controla a Iberia e a Vueling, entre outras companhias aéreas, afirmou nesta sexta-feira que está administrando proativamente sua capacidade para priorizar voos rentáveis no último trimestre do ano, período sazonalmente mais fraco.

No terceiro trimestre, marcado por uma demanda mais intensa, os preços elevados das passagens foram compensados negativamente pela menor capacidade, por interrupções nos voos e pelo aumento dos preços dos combustíveis, informou a empresa.

A companhia projetou que sua capacidade no acumulado do ano ficará ligeiramente abaixo da registrada em 2025, após ter previsto anteriormente uma estabilidade. Os investimentos de capital para o ano agora são estimados em 3,1 bilhões de euros (US$ 3,48 bilhões), abaixo dos 3,4 bilhões de euros previstos anteriormente.

No início do ano, a companhia projetava um crescimento de 3% da capacidade e investimentos de capital de 3,6 bilhões de euros, mas reduziu suas expectativas a cada divulgação trimestral de resultados.

“Como resultado das medidas que estamos adotando, as perspectivas para o restante do ano, assim como para o início do próximo, são positivas”, afirmou o diretor-presidente do IAG, Luis Gallego.

O grupo informou que continua esperando uma margem operacional entre 12% e 15% em 2026, apesar da previsão de uma conta de combustível mais elevada.

A companhia projetou que os custos com combustível somarão 8,9 bilhões de euros no ano, considerando os preços mais recentes, acima da estimativa de 8,6 bilhões de euros feita no fim de julho.

O IAG afirmou que ainda prevê um bom crescimento da receita, com 85% das reservas esperadas para o quarto trimestre já garantidas, além de tendências positivas também para o primeiro trimestre do próximo ano.

No terceiro trimestre, o grupo registrou lucro líquido após impostos de 1,23 bilhão de euros, em comparação com 1,4 bilhão de euros no mesmo período do ano anterior, enquanto a receita avançou 4,5%, para 9,74 bilhões de euros.

O lucro operacional antes de itens extraordinários, indicador preferido pela companhia, caiu 16%, para 1,73 bilhão de euros. Analistas projetavam 1,81 bilhão de euros, segundo o consenso de estimativas fornecido pela empresa.

Os custos mais elevados com combustível e uma série de interrupções pontuais, como uma grande falha no sistema de controle de tráfego aéreo do Reino Unido em setembro, problemas nos motores de aeronaves e cancelamentos de voos devido ao conflito com o Irã, prejudicaram a rentabilidade do IAG no trimestre, informou a companhia. Sua margem operacional recuou de 22% para 17,7%.

Apesar de os resultados do terceiro trimestre terem ficado abaixo das expectativas, as perspectivas positivas para a demanda indicam que o IAG está no caminho para cumprir as projeções para o ano, escreveu o RBC Capital Markets em nota a clientes.
