Os indicadores econômicos divulgados hoje reforçaram a narrativa do Fed de aceleração da atividade econômica e persistência inflacionária. O núcleo do PCE, que exclui os itens mais voláteis de energia e alimentos, avançou 0,3% em setembro em base mensal e 3,1% na anual, ambos em linha com o consenso. Já o PIB do terceiro trimestre subiu 3,4% em taxa anualizada, acima do consenso de 3,1%.

O consenso ainda aponta para uma alta dos juros em dezembro e pelo menos mais uma restrição no ano que vem, segundo dados do CME Group. “As expectativas de aumento das taxas mantém os rendimentos nominais reais elevados, o que joga contra o metal”, aponta Fawad Razaqzada, do Forex.com. Por outro lado, as compras realizadas por bancos centrais permanecem como uma importante fonte de demanda, menos sensível às oscilações de curto prazo nos rendimentos, afirma.

A sessão também foi marcada pela aversão ao risco nas bolsas, sobretudo com relação ao setor de tecnologia, após os resultados trimestrais decepcionantes da Alphabet, embora o ouro não consiga capitalizar esse movimento, tal qual na semana passada.
